Doug Zangar - Jazz Group, Guitarist/Composer/Educator  As a guitarist, Doug has worked with Pavarotti, Carol Channing (Hello Dolly), Vic Damone, Diahann Carrol, Steve Allen, Pat Boone, Roger Williams, Joel Grey, The 5th Dimension, the Shirelles, the Drifters and the Clayton/Hamilton Big Band. He has performed at private functions for such luminaries as Paloma Picasso, Alexander Julian, Bill Gates, and Vanna White. He also recorded with the Jazz Police on two CDs as a featured soloist. Currently he performs for private events and occasionally in public venues. As a composer/producer/guitarist he has created soundtracks for numerous commercials and industrial videos for clients including Alaska Airlines, Uwajimaya, Washington Dairy Association and the cities of Bellevue and Everett. Film scoring includes the independent films Mother's Day, Tiptoes, A Beautiful Thing and Capitol Hill, a short for the 2004 Fly Film Festival. He has produced the Australian rock band "Smokin' Jokers" and co-composed/produced the CD "Back In The Days" with rap artist GSG. Doug received a B.F.A. from Cornish College of the Arts (1982 - magna cum laude) where he studied with Marius Nordal, Gary Peacock and Art Lande. He has also studied film scoring and orchestration with Hummie Mann. He is active in the education system as an affiliate faculty member of Shoreline Community College, teaching Fundamentals of Music (online - WAOL certified), jazz improvisation, instrumental ensembles (rock, rhythm section techniques and guitar quartet ), MIDI sequencing (Digital Performer), group guitar classes and private lessons. He is also an Apple Logic Pro level 2 certified trainer and teaches courses on Logic for the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program, Discovery Tools and for private clients.
